First step is to book in emergency appointment and carefully remove the loose filling. Be careful not to force anything off or swallow any material. Fillings may become loose due to wear and tear or incorrect bonding. You can purchase an over the counter emergency filling in the short term to make sure the hollow part doesn’t get dirty from excess food and to keep it closed up until you see your dentist. We advise taking over the counter painkillers if the area is sensitive.
We offer a variety of ways to improve your smile, from teeth whitening to porcelain veneers. In as little as 2 hours you can improve the colour up to 3 shades lighter with our in-chair bleaching. Ask one of our staff which treatment is most suitable for you.
Radiographic or X-Ray examinations provide your dentist with an important diagnostic tool that shows the condition of your teeth, their roots, jaw placement and the overall composition of your facial bones. X-Rays can help your dentist determine the presence or degree of periodontal disease, abscesses and many abnormal growths, such as cysts and tumours. X-Rays can also show the exact location of impacted teeth. They can pinpoint the location of cavities and other signs of disease that may not be possible to detect through visual examination (such as changes in the jaw bone structure as a result of systemic disease).
We prefer children to come in sooner rather than later. Their first visit should start at around 2-3 years old where they can accompany parental figure’s dental visits. By having a look in the child’s mouth and only counting their teeth or even just a ride on the dental chair is a pain-free, trust-building exercise.
Be positive and educational. Take casual visits to the practice and let your child get to know the dentist and staff and bring them along on your dental examinations to familiarise them with the dental environment.
The practice accepts all major credit cards. Patients can claim refunds from their health funds. For major treatments, finance can be arranged through finance institutions that specialise in this and some treatment costs are also tax deductible.
As we tell our patients, spending money on your health is the best investment you can make. What price can be placed on your health or a positive self-image?
